Q. How long does it take ScreenServer to install?
A. The initial download of the information should only take a few minutes with a broadband connection. Installation from a dial-up connection, while possible, may take considerably longer. After installation, performance for dial-up users is comparable to that of broadband users.
Q. What does ScreenServer install on my computer?
A. ScreenServer installs an application, a screen-saver module, supporting media files (pictures, video, etc.) and a desktop component. ScreenServer does not make changes to system files, nor does it include spyware or adware.
Q. How much hard drive space does ScreenServer require?
A. Between 50-100 MB of free hard-drive space is recommended.
Q. What operating system do I need to run ScreenServer?
A. ScreenServer will run on Windows 2000 and Windows XP systems.
Q. How do I close ScreenServer?
A. In screensaver mode, click the “X” button in the upper right corner.
Q. How do I exit the ScreenServer desktop toolbar?
A. In your Windows task bar, click the team helmet icon and choose “Exit” or right click in the ScreenServer desktop toolbar and choose “Quit.”
Q. How do I uninstall ScreenServer?
A. To choose a different screen saver, go to your Windows Control Panel and choose “Display.” Then go to the Screen Saver tab and select a different screensaver. To uninstall the product completely, go to “Add/Remove Programs,” find the team ScreenServer and select “Uninstall.”
Q. Can I use the ScreenServer desktop toolbar without having ScreenServer as my primary screensaver?
A. Yes! As long as you do not uninstall the product, you can use the ScreenServer toolbar without the screensaver component.
Q. How do I launch the ScreenServer toolbar?
A. In the start menu, go to the ScreenServer folder and launch ScreenServer. This will launch the full screen version of ScreenServer. You may then minimize the product, which will launch the toolbar.
Q. ScreenServer is triggering my virus software. Is this normal?
A. Because ScreenServer must connect to the internet in order to retrieve the latest news, photos, and score information, some detection programs such as ZoneAlarm will report ScreenServer. Please know that ScreenServer is not a virus or spyware, and that it is connecting to the internet for the sole purpose of downloading team information to your ScreenServer desktop application.
Q. When I come back to Windows from the Welcome screen, the ScreenServer desktop toolbar is missing. How do I fix that?
A. Go to your Display Control Panel, click on the “Screen Saver” screen, and uncheck the “On resume, password protect” checkbox.
Q. My screen is too small to view all of ScreenServer. What should I do?
A. ScreenServer requires that your screen resolution is set to a minimum of 1024 x 768. To adjust your screen resolution settings, go to your Display control panel and click on the “Settings” tab. Then, adjust the slider control for Screen Resolution so that it is at least 1024 x 768.
